nice idea, poor executionJun 10, 2009 I thought this looked like the perfect solution for our family's TSA fluids. After being on the road for a month, I'm not so sure.
In the shower, it's great that the caps have little flip lids so you can squirt out some soap. It's also nice (if you're in at the same hotel for two days) that they will stand on their lids to get the last drops out. It's not so great that on the first day of the tour, one of them couldn't tighten enough to prevent leaks at the threads with pressure changes. A month later 9/12 of the bottles have similar leaks. We've switched to some 2oz Nalgene bottles (they don't seem to make a 3oz) for the worst offenders.
The 1-quart zip case is NOT watertight at the zipper, so all our carryons have mouthwash, shampoo, and astringent soaked into the fabric. The plastic of it has held up better than the 1-gallon Ziploc we now stick it into whenever it's not on the TSA conveyor belt. Speaking of the TSA, several of the inspectors looked at the bag and insisted it must be larger than the 1-quart limit, but they've been willing to believe the label when I pointed it out.
